Rapper Charli Baltimore and her daughter Sianni recently talked with Feel Rich about healthy living. The mother-daughter duo discussed personal experiences and gave tips on proper dieting.

Charli’s personal battle with weight gain.

“As far as me being a health conscious person, I like to think I am now. I think my body image plays a huge part in my career because I’m a female and I’m a rapper. Two years ago I had put on a lot of weight and I’m usually like a really small person. So to watch myself transform just kind of freaked me out.”

Sianni’s story.

“I use to be really athletic. I had a six pack and I use to go to the gym with her [Charli], and then I started eating McDonalds. I like healthy foods, I just don’t eat it. I’d rather eat a cake than some fruit.”

Charli: On monitoring a teenager’s diet and the school nutrition problem.

“It’s just hard when you have a teenager because you really can’t monitor their diet; it’s impossible. The thing that messes you up in school is when you get to high school you have a selection. When you’re in elementary school, you don’t have a selection you kind of have to eat what they give you. In high school you basically buy your meals and it’s all pretty much junk. It’s pizza and candy, cookies. It’s crazy to see the transformation of just eating constant junk food and what it will do to you.”

Sianni’s advice.

“I do think it’s cool to be healthy. I think everybody should be healthy. Just watch what you eat. Eating fast food and all that stuff that has all the fat and makes you fat, I don’t think that’s…just no to fast food in general.”
