NAS DROPS ‘DAUGHTERS’ + MOTHER’S RESPONSE

Nas is a concerned father who became alarmed when his teenage daughter Destiny photographed some questionable items and posted them to her Twitter account. In response to such activity, he wrote a song called “Daughters” which highlights his shortfalls as a dad.

In the song, Nas acknowledges that he hasn’t been the strictest parent saying,

“I’m too loose, I’m too cool with her
Shoulda drove on time to school with her
I thought I dropped enough jewels on her
Took her from private school, so she can get a balance
To public school, they too nurture teen talents
They grow fast, one day she’s ya little princess
Next day she talking boy business, what is this
They say the coolest playas and foulest heart breakers in the world
God gets us back, he makes us have precious little girls”

After what appears to be genuine concern one would think that Destiny’s mom would be proud of Nas for taking responsibility as a father; quite the contrary. Carmen Bryan angrily took to Twitter after hearing the song saying, “Just heard ‘Daughters’ by Nas. What a disappointment! He had nothing positive to say about our daughter and his depiction of her is false!…perhaps her father should be talking to her and spending more time with her so he can really get to know her….Destiny will be 18 in 2 months. Over it!”

*Due to the explicitness of some lyrics, BCK is not at liberty to feature “Daughters.” You can, however, listen to the song here.
