At just 5-moths-old, Blue Ivy Carter has dual citizenship. The little one was recently deemed an honorary citizen of the island of Hvar by Mayor Pjerino Bebic.
“The story of the origin of the name of your daughter has brought enormous media attention and therefore tourist promotion to the town and island of Hvar. Because of this, I have decided to confer on your daughter the status of honorary citizen of the town of Hvar,” says Bebic.
Citizenship comes after Blue’s parents visited the Croatian destination last year where they discovered a beautiful blue ivy tree. “We woke up this morning, took a nice little walk, passed by this beautiful blue tree. I think it’s Blue Ivy, which would be quite appropriate,” said Blue’s mom, singer Beyonce Knowles.
The Carter family are currently in Europe supporting dad Jay-Z’s overseas tour.
