‘Living In Color’ was the theme for this year’s ‘Art for Life’ benefit. Russell Simmons, along with brothers Danny and Rev. Run, hosted their 13th annual Rush Philanthropic Arts charity event at Russell’s home in the Hampton Estates on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Both of Russell’s daughters, Ming and Aoki, were in attendance as were Run’s wife Justine and kids Vanessa, Angela, Joseph Jr., Diggy, Russell II, and Miley.

Numerous celebs attended the event and several stars, including Nick Cannon and Maria Carey, were honored at the dinner ceremony. All proceeds from the benefit (nearly $2 million was raised) went to fund Reverend Run and Russell Simmons’ charity, Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation.

For over 15 years, Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation has given inner-city children exposure to the arts. From singing to dancing, the foundation has managed to serve over 2,000 kids who would have otherwise not received a platform to openly express themselves creatively without the program’s help.
