LAILAA WILLIAMS CELEBRATES WITH MOM CANDACE PARKER

It was all smiles for women’s basketball player Candace Parker as she celebrated the United States’ win over France in the gold medal competition of the 2012 Olympic Games on August 11, 2012. The team’s most valuable player shared the monumental moment with her 3-year-old daughter Lailaa who wanted a medal like mommy. “She asked me where the smaller one was for her,” said Candace. “We’ll have to try and get her one.”

Parker was happy that the States took home gold and was honored to be a part of all the action. “Michael Jordan used to say, ‘It’s possible to stumble on a championship once but it’s a lot harder to do it twice.’   For USA basketball to have it won it five times is really special.”

Lailaa’s dad is NBA player Shelden Williams.
