The Watsons Go to Birmingham is the story of a middle class African American family traveling the country during the civil unrest of the 1960s. Through various experiences on the road, the Watsons learn the importance of having a moral compass and that family is the most valuable entity. Skai Jackson and Harrison Knight are two of many cast members who bring the scholastic book by Christopher Paul Curtis to life.

Spike and Tonya Lee have two kids-Satchel and Jackson-together. The Watsons Go to Birmingham will air on the Hallmark Channel on September 20, 2013.
