As mom and entertainer, Alicia Keys is becoming good at juggling. From adjusting her schedule to spend quality time with 2-year-old Egypt to setting aside four to five hours for studio work, Alicia finds a way to do it all. The singer tells ABC how she manages to be mommy and recording artist all at once.
“It’s definitely sometimes challenging and difficult,” says the singer, “but I think like with all of us that are juggling many things, a good healthy schedule helps. And you have to schedule your life in. You have to schedule your time off in.”
Alicia is currently on tour with her son who is enjoying every moment of the experience. “I definitely love exposing him to all the things that are happening and going on, especially the very meaningful things. We did have one day where Egypt was [on set] … so that was really cool. Fortunately, until they get into school, you actually can bring them almost everywhere,” explains the singer.
Although rumors have been spinning about Alicia being ready for baby number two, the singer says that more children are in her far off distant future. “That’s down the road, definitely down the road.”
Egypt is Alicia and husband Swizz Beatz’s first child together. He will celebrate his third birthday on October 14, 2013.
