After changing her perspective and becoming a mother whose proud of what she does, Tia now has a bit of advice for first time moms dealing with parental guilt.

Make family time your priority.

“The first thing for us is family time. I work every day from Monday to Thursday, and Friday is family night. We go to my son’s favorite restaurant. Even when things get crazy and hectic, we put that all aside and focus on each other.”

Find a great babysitter.

“Do the research while you’re pregnant and find a situation that makes you comfortable. This will make you feel so much better when it’s time to leave for work.”

Take your time and don’t let the guilt overtake you.

“When you’re a new mom your hormones are flying all over the place. Take your time. The guilt will kick in when you leave your baby, but it helps to know that there are other moms out there doing the same thing. It helped me to realize that I wasn’t doing this alone; millions of women are doing exactly what I’m doing, and they’re OK.”
