Laiyah Brown doesn’t have to worry about protection when her brothers are around. The little one was recently captured exploring nature with Romelo and Rodney Jr. Raymond, Rodney and Romelo’s older brother, was also present and held Laiyah high as she gazed into the camera’s lens.
Monica tells Essence that her sons and daughter are her greatest accomplishment in life. “I think they are the best reflection of me,” says the R&B sensation. “Accolades are sometimes easy to come by in the industry, but when you look at family and children and the love amongst them, that’s when you can really see real accomplishment.”
The singer also discusses how religion has influenced her life. “I’ve read the Book of Psalms at least 500 times in its entirety,” shares the star. “You can never go wrong with the 23rd Psalm. ‘Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.’ That’s something that I have to say on a constant basis because evil is amongst me in this industry, every single day.”
Monica has one child, Laiyah, with husband Shannon Brown. Romelo and Rodney Jr., are the singer’s kids with ex-boyfriend Rodney “Rocko” Hill Sr.
