Not everyone is criticizing Adrian Peterson. Reggie Bush recently ran to the aid of the NFL star by telling media that he too would use harsh tactics if his daughter, Briseis, did something that warranted such punishment.
“I was punished the same way,” said Bush. “And I know a lot of my friends and a lot of the guys I played with, they were punished the same way, too.”
Reggie further explained, “I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I discipline her. I definitely will try to — will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on what the situation is.”
The NFL star went so far as to say that he would consider using a “switch” if the situation called for it but quickly retracted his statement. “No, I didn’t say a branch or a stick,” recanted the star. “I said spanking. Spanking is different than a branch or a stick.”
Briseis is Reggie and wife Lilit Bush’s first child together.
