It was a red night for Zendaya Coleman who joined other stars in spreading awareness about heart disease among women on Thursday. Zendaya was one of many notables to walk the runway for the Heart Truth Red Dress Show in New York City.
The young star took the runway with confidence while wearing a beautiful red gown with accessories. Zendaya also took several pictures on the red carpet in which she formed a heart with her hands.
Although heart disease is often deemed an illness that solely affects men, several thousand women die from the sickness every year. In fact, it is estimated that one in three women will die from heart disease and stroke this year.
In an effort to spread awareness and prevent such statistics from rising, the American Heart Association has created the Red Dress initiative. Proceeds from this year’s fashion show will go towards finding a cure for heart disease, and encouraging healthy living among women.
