Jennifer Hudson and her son made their way through LAX airport on Monday. Little David gave photographers a smile while walking alongside his mom.

The youngster must be proud to have a parent whose phenomenal voice was featured during the 2015 Academy Awards on Sunday. Jennifer sang ‘I Can’t Let Go’ during the “In Memory Of” portion of the show. “This is for all the people who shared their talent and their lives with us. We are forever changed,” said Hudson before rendering the lyrics to the beautiful ballad.

Jennifer has certainly experienced her share of heartache in life. This will be the seventh year that the singer has lived with the memory of her mother and nephew, after they were murdered by a family friend in 2008. Hudson remembers her deceased family members every year with a charity event that gives back to kids currently residing in her hometown.

Although her family’s tragedy was devastating, Jennifer has managed to move forward with the help of her son and fiance, David Otunga Sr. Little David is the couple’s only child.
