Anthony Anderson and his son, Nathan, were in attendance at the premiere of New Line Cinema’s Barbershop 3: The Next Cut. The celebrity dad placed a hand on his youngster’s shoulder as the two took the red carpet by storm.
Barbershop 3 addresses family and a host of other issues. Calvin, like every other parent in Chicago, is concerned about the negative influences that his son is exposed to as gang members attempt to take over the neighborhood. The barbershop owner and his crew seek to bring changes to the community by making the shop a safe haven where individuals can get free haircuts and styling. Their efforts become a sort of movement as people come from near and far to get cuts and simply observe.
Anderson, who stars in the film, commented on the upcoming movie’s aim to be “comedy with a conscience” during a recent interview with ABC News. “It’s the only way we could’ve done another installment of ‘Barbershop,’ you know?” he said. “It’s just been the evolution of the movie. We’ve dealt with the individual problems and now we’re dealing with the problems of a community as a whole.”
