Hailed by industry publications such as Variety, Indiewire, and The Wrap, as an exciting new breakout star, twenty-year-old actor/singer, Jacob Latimore, is quickly setting himself apart from the masses, rising to the top of his generation as a truly versatile professional. Known for appearing in hits such as Ride Along, The Maze Runner, Black Nativity, and more, Latimore is unquestionably a force to recon with.
His latest project, the personification of the abstract concept of time in the new Will Smith movie, Collateral Beauty, due out in theaters this weekend, will definitely give testament to the natural charisma and malleable talent of this Wisconsin-native! Latimore, in an interview with Fuse, states that the movie “shows the power of communicating and engaging with the people around you.”
In the movie, Will Smith plays a New York advertising executive who suffers a great tragedy and retreats from all that he knows only to reconnect through writing letters to “Love,” “Death,” and “Time.” Latimore states in the interview that in terms of playing such a conceptual character, “[he] was like, ‘Okay, Time: Black kid, Timberlands, hoodie—all right, okay, I see how this goes. I tried to represent the importance of time, what we do in this moment is important, and that time waits on no one; that we have to use our time wisely, and we’re not going to be here forever and everyone around us isn’t going to be here forever.”
Well said. We definitely look forward to watching Latimore's career reach new heights. Don’t forget to check out Collateral Beauty in theaters December 16th.
