T-BOZ AND DAUGHTER ARE ‘UNPLUGGED’ FOR CHARITY

Tionne Watkins, a.k.a. T-Boz, and her daughter, Chase, were the charitable duo at their benefit concert last night. T-Boz’s ‘Unplugged’ event hosted some of Hollywood’s greatest talent who were all focused on a cure for Sickle Cell Disease (SCD).

Snoop Dogg, Naughty By Nature, Angie Vee, and Da Brat performed at the concert. T-Boz, of course, took the stage and gave fans the wonderful surprise of a duet with her daughter, Chase. The celebrity mom and her teenaged “mini me” rendered a beautiful rendition of ‘Unpretty’ as the band backed them up.

T-Boz is one of the thousands with SCD in America as she revealed her fight to stay alive while enduring the effects of the illness along with a brain tumor in 2009.

“Because of my sickle-cell disease, I have a high tolerance for pain,” the singer said of the doctor’s discovery of an acoustic neuroma on her vestibular nerve. “By 2006, I’d had headaches for six years. I thought it was stress. But when my vision went blurry, I got an MRI,” she explained.

“I thought, ‘God, why now,'” T-Boz said of her reaction to the bad news. “I told the doctor my goal was not to die—I had to be there for Chase.”

Chase celebrated her sixteenth birthday last October. She is T-Boz and rapper Mack 10’s only child.
