Captain Underpants started out as a children’s novel series by author and illustrator Dav Pilkey, recanting the tales of two fourth-grade-students and best friends, George Beard and Harold Hutchins living in Piqua, OH. The story follows the boys as they accidentally turn one of their homemade comic books into the real thing by hypnotizing their grumpy principal, Mr. Krupp and making him believe that he is indeed a superhero named Captain Underpants.
Fast-forward to 2017 and Captain Underpants is set to make its big screen debut with funnyman Kevin Hart at the helm of it all as George himself. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, hits theaters June 2nd, and will delight movie-goers as DreamWorks Animation and Scholastic Entertainment team up to bring Pilkey’s series to life.
