“We started talking to them back in March and they said they were interested,” Michelle Turner commented to the Fayetteville Observer in an interview regarding the show. “We got a call on Tuesday. They said. ‘We’re going to fly you out the next morning.’ I said, ‘What?'”

And what a surprise it was. Maximus, already well-known to fans of the South View High School football and band, as he has been practicing and performing with the school’s color guard, wowed a national audience, proving what his local Hope Mills community already knew-this kid has got talent!

After the performance, to commemorate the moment, Steve Harvey presented Maximus with a flag with his face on it! Check out Maximus’ performance and let us know what you think!
