The ninth annual LadyLike Foundation’s Women of Excellence Scholarship Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton was star-studded to no end with Sean Combs and others in attendance.

The charity’s founder, Leah Pump, took several pictures with Chance Combs and Zola Murphy who participated in the event’s show. Bella Harris and Trinitee Stokes were also two young stars in attendance at the luncheon.
The LadyLike Foundation holds its Women of Excellence Scholarship event every year in hopes of empowering girls to reach for the stars. Holly Robinson-Peete served as this year’s emcee as the LadyLike charity sought to raise upwards of $500,000 for the underprivileged while honoring Tina Lawson for her philanthropic efforts.
“We are thrilled to honor Tina Knowles-Lawson,” Leah Pump said weeks before the luncheon. “Her excellence as a fashion designer, businesswoman, mother, wife and philanthropist, is an inspiration to young women all over the world that you really can do it all, if you put your mind to it.”
Sean Combs was definitely in agreement with the luncheon’s theme and took the time to honor girls and women during this weekend’s affairs. “I want to honor all of the mothers that are here, that without y’all there would be no us. There would be nothing,” he said. “To my young queens that are out there, these organizations are for you to know that you are beautiful, intelligent, powerful, strong, you are truly black magic,” Combs added.
Leah Pump envisioned the LadyLike Foundation in 2004 when her pastor appointed her as the church’s director of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Today, the non-profit 501c3 group serves young women who may not have the opportunity to explore certain facets of life due to economic and social constraints. According to the charity’s website,
“Through cutting-edge resource programs, etiquette classes, life skill workshops, mentorships, and experiences young ladies are challenged to reach their highest potential and become the successful, well-rounded “Lady” they were created to be.”
