Donald Glover has a baby son on the way! The actor-turned-director made history as the first African-American director to win an Emmy for directing a comedy and he thanked his family and unborn son during his acceptance speech.
“I’m so happy. Wow,” Donald exclaimed. “Thank you guys, so much,” he said. “I want to thank Michelle, my partner. You love me even with how crazy I get. I want to thank my baby, my son, for just being the joy in my life. I want to thank my unborn son. We’re listening to Stevie [Wonder], tonight.”
Donald Glover welcomed his first child last October. Many were surprised by the director’s venture down parenthood lane as the only news of Donald expecting a child came when he was spotted in Hawaii with an unidentified pregnant woman who we now know to be his girlfriend, Michelle.
Glover has been the center of attention ever since his historical win at the Emmy Awards on Sunday. “I always wanted to make good things, that’s all that’s important to me,” Donald said of his motivation when directing Atlanta. “We always talk in the Atlanta writers’ room about just making something quality.”
