GARCELLE BEAUVAIS AND MORE ATTEND NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PREMIERE OF ‘JANE’

Jane is a film based on 100 hours of never-before-seen footage of Jane Goodall’s time spent with the chimpanzees. Goodall made history during the 1960s when she went where no man would go, which was into the world of what many believed were ravaging beasts. Jane discovered that the chimps were not that much different from humans. In fact, there were quite nice animals once relationships were established. Although many have tried to discredit Jane’s research over the years, her work continues to live on and shape science as we know it.

“The film is very much a love story, except the love is not between man and woman,” director Brett Morgen says. “The love is between a woman and her work, and a man and his work.”

Jane Goodall discussed her incredible work as a field biologist on her eightieth birthday in 2014. “Somebody asked me the other day at a lecture—they said, ‘Your life has gone into these neat phases. What do you think the next phase is?'” Jane went on, “I said, ‘Well, I suspect it’s death.'”

Three years later and Jane is still traveling the world and advocating for animal rights. Learn more about her institute here. Check out the trailer for Jane below!
