Allow Kim Kardashian to reiterate. The celebrity mom recently addressed a Twitter critic who saw an old picture of North West with straightened hair and felt the need to comment.

“She is allowed twice a year, on her birthday and birthday party,” Kim told the social media commenter. The celebrity mom was initially responding to a picture that she shared on Tuesday in which North was showering her father, Kanye West, with kisses. “This pic was taken back in June on her bday,” Kim said as a way of explaining why North’s hair is straightened in the candid.
There was a firestorm of criticism back in June when North West debuted her blown-out hair for her birthday weekend. “She wanted to try straight hair so I said she could try it for her birthday party and then if she liked it, she could do it in New York for her birthday,” Kim later told media. “It’s very limited to just that,” the star mom added. “She knows that.”
The celebrity mom went on to express why she thought the backlash over North’s hair was so intense. “I think everyone thought it was this crazy pressed thing,” Kim said. “I just used a flat iron and everyone was saying she was wearing extensions and I was like, ‘No, she has curly hair, so that’s what the length of her hair is when it’s straightened.’ I was just seeing these things that [people were saying] online and they were just ridiculous.”
North West is Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s oldest child. The celebrity couple has three kids in all.
